Generous community partners also presented cash donations, bringing the event total to over $167,000.
Communities In Schools of Southern Nevada’s (CIS of Southern Nevada) sixth annual Fill the Bus school supply drive collected school supplies valued at over $150,000 for underserved Clark County students to use during the 2018-19 school year.
The supply drive, held on Friday, July 27, at Galleria Mall and Sam’s Club at Arroyo Crossing, looked to the Las Vegas community to help address the needs of over 57,000 K-12 students the organization serves in Clark County School District. The donated items will supply CIS of Southern Nevada resource rooms, easing the financial burden put on low-income students and their families, as well as teachers and site coordinators who often spend their own money on resources and school supplies for their students each year.
