CIS of Nevada welcomes new CEO, Dr. Tiffany Tyler!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

June 29Dr-Tyler, 2016

Las Vegas – Communities In Schools of Nevada (CIS of Nevada) welcomes Dr. Tiffany Tyler to the position of chief executive officer (CEO). Joining the Nevada office of the nation’s leading and most effective dropout prevention and intervention program, Tyler brings unparalleled expertise, both personally and professionally, to the position.

“It is with great pleasure that we announce Dr. Tiffany Tyler as the new CEO of Communities In Schools of Nevada,” said Susie Lee, president of the board of directors of CIS of Nevada. “Along with her powerful personal background in education, her service on the CIS of Southern Nevada Advisory Committee and her focus on dropout prevention in our community for many years, I am certain she will be an inspirational figure that heightens the impact of our mission throughout the community.”

Tyler is a published researcher, a psychologist and has extensive experience as a nonprofit administrator. Most recently serving as chief operations officer at Nevada Partners, Tyler was in charge of administration of programs and services addressing Southern Nevada’s at-risk adult and youth populations. Her work with Nevada Partners was one of 30 organizations recognized by The White House as a model workforce training program. Additionally, last fall, Tyler was recognized by the local workforce board as their inaugural workforce development champion.

“It’s truly an honor to join an organization transforming the educational landscape for our community’s most vulnerable children,” said Tyler. “I’ve long admired the unparalleled support provided by Communities in Schools professionals and am excited to link arms with the leadership of CIS as they deepen and enrich the services provided to students.”

She is uniquely qualified and inherently linked to the issue of dropout prevention as a former high school dropout herself. While she did not have the benefit of a program like Communities In Schools, she has benefitted along her path from “caring adults,” an area importance emphasized by CIS of Nevada.

Tyler earned a Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Southern California, a Masters in counseling from California State University-Northridge and a Doctorate of Educational Psychology from The University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Tyler will assume the CEO role, effective Monday, Aug. 1, 2016. She has served as an Advisory Committee member to Communities In Schools of Southern Nevada since 2008. For more information, please visit www.cisnevada.org.
