In the tradition of Noble Deeds Day, created by Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve in 2019, Noble Studios’ philanthropic program, Noble Deeds, is excited to announce that Communities In Schools (CIS) of Nevada will receive nearly $200,000 of pro bono digital marketing services in 2022. CIS of Nevada was selected from more than 50 applications submitted by Nevada nonprofits.
“We’re excited to work directly with such a transformative organization,” said Noble Deeds Chair and Senior Web Developer Steve Erdelyi. “Communities In Schools of Nevada has made a huge difference for Nevada’s students and we’re honored to be a part of expanding that impact throughout the state.”
CIS of Nevada is the fifth-largest state-level office of Communities In Schools, a national nonprofit focused on improving graduation rates by supporting and empowering students. CIS of Nevada provides resources to students, parents, staff, and administrators to deliver Integrated Student Supports (ISS) to students at or near the poverty line. This evidence-based strategy has helped CIS of Nevada close the achievement gap for 80,000 plus kids in schools throughout the state.
Over the course of the year, Noble Studios will work with CIS of Nevada to create and implement a digital marketing strategy and launch a new website: a dynamic space where students, families, and stakeholders can learn more about the mission and gain access to community resources.
“We are humbled and honored to be the recipient of this generous digital marketing grant from Noble Studios, which will allow us to present a new website to the world,” said Tami Hance-Lehr, CEO and state director, Communities In Schools of Nevada. “It has been our longtime vision to have a dynamic online space where our community can learn about our mission, the impact of our work on students and families, and how the community can get involved. Thanks to the generous help, creative talent, and support of the Noble Studios Team, we are confident our new website will serve a critical role in helping more students stay in school and achieve a higher quality of life.”
CIS of Nevada places caring, well-trained, full-time employees in high-poverty schools to build trusting relationships with students and families, assess their needs and remove the barriers they face to learning and graduating. They tap into a network of more than 120 agencies and nonprofits to meet student needs – literally bringing the community into the schools it serves. CIS has innovated ways to collaborate with partners during the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure continuity of care, meeting students online, at home, or in the community to provide support.
Included in CIS of Nevada’s strategies and culture are principles and practices of diversity, equity, and inclusion. As a result, they break down immediate and systemic barriers to create and sustain equitable outcomes. In total, CIS of Nevada serves more than 80,000 students, including 12 schools in Western Nevada, 12 schools in Northeastern Nevada, and 57 schools in Southern Nevada.
Noble Studios and CIS of Nevada will begin working together as soon as possible to help spread the word about this program to schools, volunteers, donors and more.
