CIS of Nevada Names Two Members to Development Team

Tami Hance-Lehr, state director and CEO of Communities In Schools of Nevada (CIS), the nation’s leading evidence-based stay-in-school organization serving 108 schools with regional offices in the Clark, Elko, Humboldt and Washoe County school districts, announces the appointment of two new members to the organization’s leadership team: Holly Weberg, director of development and engagement and Jaisha Webb, development and engagement manager.

Weberg joins the team as director of development and engagement to oversee all fundraising efforts for CIS through the creation and implementation of a strategic and comprehensive development plan that includes donor cultivation, grants, charitable initiatives, and marketing opportunities. Prior to joining CIS, Weberg was corporate manager of strategic partnerships with Caesars Entertainment. She previously held various cruise industry management roles with Celebrity Cruises, Cystal Cruises, The World of ResidenSea, Windstar Cruises and VShips.

Webb is development and engagement manager, working closely with Weberg to manage CIS’ fundraising efforts, donor cultivation and marketing opportunities, specifically for the organization’s Western Nevada (Reno) and Northeastern Nevada (Elko and Humboldt) affiliates. Webb has spent the past several years working as a project engineer on various road construction and mining projects throughout Northern Nevada. Webb was introduced to CIS when she volunteered in 2015 at Spring Creek High School in Elko County where she tutored seven students, helping them graduate on time. Because of that experience, Webb joined the team to impact more students.

CIS places full-time and professionally trained site coordinators in schools across the state to support students who face barriers to their success—increasing the likelihood of students staying in school and graduating on time. The organization taps into a statewide network of more than 120 community nonprofits, partners and agencies, literally bringing the community into the school, to get students whatever they need to overcome the barriers they face that prevent them from achieving academically. From eyeglasses, dental care, health care and professional counseling, to food, school supplies, clothing and even housing, CIS identifies student needs and finds a way to address them, closing the gaps they experience in their everyday lives. CIS’ long-term vision is for every child enrolled in a Title I or high-needs school to have access to a CIS site coordinator and their evidence-based model of Integrated Student Supports, otherwise known as wraparound services. For CIS case-managed students who were eligible to graduate in the 2021-2022 school year, 94 percent received their diploma or GED.
