Our Standards

Communities In Schools of Nevada is committed to building healthy affiliates that are rooted in the community for the long haul. Each affiliate adheres to our national set of standards, known as Total Quality System (TQS). These standards ensure that our affiliates provide programs and implement strategies whose effectiveness has been proven through research.

As part of TQS, Communities in Schools embeds site coordinators at partner schools. These Communities in Schools staff members assess the needs of the school and coordinate the delivery of needed supports and resources where students can access them with greatest ease – right on the school campus. Both Level I school-wide services, such as career fairs and clothing drives, and Level II services, such as individual counseling, case management, and mentoring, are delivered at each of these school campuses.

When a Communities In Schools affiliate meets all of the TQS standards, it receives national recognition as an accredited affiliate. Currently, our Southern Nevada affiliate has achieved this national accreditation status. Our Northeastern Nevada affiliate will undergo its accreditation review from our national organization this year.
